Our Purpose

The mission of Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church is to glorify Jesus Christ by loving Him through worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, and missions, while serving one another and our community. Within the mission of the church at large, the youth ministry’s purpose is to form students into disciple-makers who Worship Christ, Walk with Christ, Work for Christ, and Witness for Christ (4W’s).

Our Goal

Oftentimes the “win” can be unclear or confusing in student ministry. So, how do we know we’re winning? There are two goalposts we are shooting for:

  1. Students becoming a disciple 

    Clearly stated, that means a student has come to a place where they have trusted in Christ alone for salvation and are beginning to practice the 4-Ws.

  2. Students becoming disciple-makers

    This is the ultimate win. A student is a disciple-maker when they are leading other students as a small group leader or discipleship group leader. When they are engaged in the activity of modeling & teaching the 4-W’s to their peers, they are now disciple-makers.

Our Programs

  • Wednesday Nights

    Midweek worship experience that engages students in relationship-building through fun games, theologically rich worship music, and biblical teaching. The goal of this environment is to provide an opportunity for students to engage in worship.

  • Sunday School

    Time for students to engage in small groups where they are challenged to grow in their walk with Christ as they participate in facilitated discussion concerning how to apply Scripture to their lives. The goal of this environment is to provide an opportunity for students to engage in conversation about applying the Bible to their lives.

  • Anchor Events

    We have two “Anchor” events that provide opportunities for students to grow in their faith through intentional programming that promotes evangelism, discipleship, and missions.

    These events are:

    • D-NOW

    • Camp Caswell

  • Fellowship Events

    We have several smaller events that provide opportunities for fun fellowship and relationship building.

    These events are:

    • Winter Jam

    • Lock-Ins

    • F3 Events (Food, Fellowship, Fun!)

    • Outings

      • Laser Tag

      • Bowling

      • Movie Nights
