Introducing our children to God’s Kingdom

Our Purpose

The mission of Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church is to glorify Jesus Christ by loving Him through worship, evangelism, fellowship, discipleship, and missions, while serving one another and our community.

Within the mission of the church at large, the children’s ministry’s purpose is to teach children to become disciples who Worship Christ, Walk with Christ, Work for Christ, and Witness for Christ.

What We Teach

We use a three-year curriculum from Lifeway called The Gospel Project. We teach through it in both Sunday School and Children’s Church, so we go through the entire Bible every one-and-a-half years.

Curriculum

  • It’s all about Jesus, and every story points back to Him.

  • This study is designed to encourage true transformation that comes only from the gospel, not from behavior modification.

  • Each week, every participant—from preschoolers to adults—can study from the same section of Scripture.

  • All age levels study the narrative of the Bible in order, from Genesis to Revelation.

  • All studies are presented in an age-aware manner, and every session is doctrinally sound and thorough.

  • Every session calls participants to respond by sharing and living out the gospel.

Our Programs

  • Children's Church

    Children’s Church is a time for children to enjoy being together for a time of engaging activities and biblically rich devotionals! All children who would like to participate will be dismissed from the worship service after the time of musical worship, before the sermon. Kingdom Kidz volunteers will escort them to the classroom, where parents may pick them up following the service.

  • Sunday School

    Pre-K—5th grade children will love our Kingdom Kidz Sunday School! Our Sunday School teachers are passionate about children and work joyfully to create an environment in which children will learn God’s Word and have a lot of fun!

  • Nursery

    Our nursery ministry exists to serve parents through caring for their children ages 0-3 during both the Sunday School and Worship Service times.

  • Worship Service

    All children are welcome in the Worship Service! We are glad to offer the Nursery and Children’s Church to minister to children and to serve parents who want to be able to focus during the Worship Service. But if any parents want their children to remain in the Worship Service with them, they have our total support, no matter how much they may squirm or cry!

Safety Note

Because we know just how much God loves children, our desire is to provide an environment that is safe for them. Every volunteer working in any area of our children’s ministry is required to pass background checks, which are renewed regularly.
