Welcome to the FVBC Children's Department!
We have many exciting activities throughout the year that keep our kindergarten - 5th graders engaged with Jesus!
All of the activities that FVBC Children's Department participates in fulfill All aspects of our mission statement - WORSHIP, EVANGELISM, DISCIPLESHIP, & MISSIONS - while SERVING each other and our community.
See what the excitement is all about…...
SUNDAYS 5:00-6:30pm SEPTEMBER - APRIL
Through EVANGELISM, students weekly hear the "Plan of Salvation", in large group time. Leaders are trained in the Gospel Wheel, to share the Plan with students and adults. Children are also encouraged to write letters and invitations to friends, inviting them to AWANA.
During DISCIPLESHIP, children work through their books, during "Handbook Time." This is when they memorize scripture and get it deep into their hearts. They learn how to Know, Love, and Serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Through WORSHIP, Students praise God through song and listen to a large group Bible lesson.
AWANA has had the pleasure to participate in several MISSIONS opportunities this year, as well as have missionaries visit us. We have participated in Operation Christmas Child, the Buddy Backpack Program, and Pop-Tarts for Baptist Children’s Home of North Carolina.
WORSHIP: We sing songs of Jesus' birth!
EVANGELISM: Surrounding neighbors see us, hear us, and sometimes even join us! We not only sing to homebound church members, but we go to the local fire department.
DISCIPLESHIP: Singers of all ages discuss the importance of Jesus' birth. We also disciple for a bit, with the family that we are singing for.
A few of the missions in which we have participated:
WORSHIP: Through singing praise songs that focuses on the theme we are studying, listening to a large group lesson, and prayer.
EVANGELISM: Children are encouraged to bring a friend every Sunday morning. We also discuss ways to share God's love with friends and family, as well as how our actions and words should always be pleasing to God- we can set the example!
DISCIPLESHIP: God's word is taught in a relevant way each week. Children have fun learning to love, obey and serve the Lord, through Bible study, crafts and games.
MISSION: Students participate in different missions. We may be young, but we can make a difference! Missions in which we have participated:
- FVBC Food Pantry
- Buddy Backpack
- Compassion International
