Since March 1995 it's been my blessing to be the senior pastor of
Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church (FVBC). During these years, God has taught my
family and me some wonderful things about Himself and about us. It's been an
awesome journey. I am so thankful for a church family that loves its pastor
in spite of his many weaknesses. It is a great blessing to serve the Lord in
the midst of a people who allow me as pastor to be a real person who is
striving to walk with our Lord in the everyday things.
I was born on April 28, 1961 in Augusta, GA, raised in the area and
graduated from North Augusta High School. I played college football before earning a B.S. in Marketing from Pfeiffer University Charlotte. I received my M. Div from Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas and my D. Min from Southeastern Baptist Seminary in Wake Forest.
When I moved to Charlotte, NC in 1984, I met Beth Brown and on August 17,
1985 I had the privilege of marrying her. It is a blessing beyond words to
have Beth as my friend, wife, sweetheart, and ministry partner. Beth
graduated from UNC Charlotte with B.S. in Nursing, a great degree for a
pastor's wife and mother of active boys! We have been blessed with three
sons: Clark, Cameron and Kendall.
I want to issue you a personal invitation to come and see what God is doing
at FVBC. You will find a group of people who are striving to apply their
personal relationship with Jesus to daily living. Come join in with us for
the greatest journey every known!
Chris
